The menorah with the white background is an 18th century example that went up for auction on March 23, 2004 in New York City. Notice the $20,000 - $30,000 estimate. Then on October 15, 2007 a 19th century example (like mine), SOLD at the same auction house in NYC for almost $20,000 (the hammer price was $15,000, plus 20% buyers commission and 8.375% New York sales tax, so the winner of the menorah paid over $19,500).Shown in the third photo is from the book "A Collector's Guide to Judaica", by Jay Weinstein, where he discusses this very type of menorah. This type of menorah is featured prominently in Jewish museums around the world, including the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Jewish Museum of New York.
