Description New Page 1 Up for auction is a 1939 GENERAL ELECTRIC BAKELITE TABLE RADIO MODEL #H500 in excellent original condition. The cabinet of this radio has excellent marbling and could use a good cleaning. It shows minor signs of age and wear: very light surface scratches, some tape residue, etc... mainly found on the bottom. The thumbwheel and dial are both in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or breaks that I can see and it is very easily read. The white knob is also in good condition and turns freely. This has its original cardboard back, although the top portion of it is missing (see picture). The chassis must be complete as when plugged in, it played with a low hum and some static, but you are still buying this electronically AS IS. The original cord is still pliable and has no cracks or bare wires showing. The original identification tag is partially missing (see picture) and there are four rubber feet on the bottom that are not original with the unit. I will leave the removal, if so desired, to the successful bidder. This deco sets measures 9" long, 4 1/2" deep and 6" tall. A very nice example of this radio with terrific marbling!
