The ashtray is 5 inches square and stands 3/4 inch tall. There is a hammered metal design around the rim.  There is an emblem on the top , a figure with the words ' Trouw Aan De Bond' under it and the date '1948'. On the back of the ashtray it reads ' Sola-Fabreik Zeist'.  There are a few wee scratches, mostly from storage or display  but no burn or heat marks from use.  The box is cardboard with a paper covering.  It is a tan with greyish design.  There is some paper rub marks on the surface.The box has a bit od edge wear and one corner is torn with a wee bit of paper loss. The front of the box has printed on it ' Alg. Nederlandse / Metaalbewerkers Bond / 60.000 Leden 1948 '. Inside the lid it reads ' Sola / Door en door / Vlekvrij' and ' 9 crest) Nederl.
