Description
1950 WESTERN ELECTRIC MODEL 410 F1 2 LINE TELEPHONE Search'>Search Up for your consideration is this Western Electric model 410, Art Deco telephone. This is a working, antique telephone, not a replica. Yes, I have copied every line in this ad from another because if I don't the "restorers" get mad and write me nasty letters. These Western Electric model 410 telephones are a classic example of the art deco styles of the late 1930's and 1940's. Designed by famous industrial designer Henry Dreyfus, it is also referred to as the "Lucy phone" because it was used many times on the "I Love Lucy" sitcom, which first aired on television in 1951. What makes this phone unique is that it is a 2 line phone! The small knob on the bottom left of the phone is what is used to switch lines. This telephone features an F1 bakelite handset, a 5H rotary dial, ( missing the cap) and brown cloth covered cords. The handset cord works, but the cloth is coming off in 2 places and needs to be replaced. The dates that are stamped on the major components of this telephone suggest that it was manufactured in June of 1950. This telephone performs just like it did when it was put into service. I added an adapter so it would fit into any modern phone jack. I must stress that this phone has NOT been restored! It works great, but it is scraped and scratched. I had this phone up for auction about a year ago and all I got was a history lesson from the guys who restore them and could I ship them the phone for $5.00. They buy them for cheap, restore them, and sell them for about $300.00! This really makes them mad that I know what their con game is. Check out a typical note in the Q & A. So if you are looking for a really cool phone that is 58 years old, has that cool bell ring, and is solid as a rock, this is the phone for you! Please look at my about me page BEFORE YOU BID! $65.00 for shipping. That's right! only $65.00 for shipping.
