(The candlesticks stand totally vertical-It is the angle from which the photos were taken that makes them appear to stand 'slanted'.)  Excellence in Craftsmanship is shown in the intricate detailing that leans toward the gothic/baroque in style. Each of these beautifully ornate candlesticks has a wide, (8-3/4"), drip tray around the base of the actual candle holder. Does 'double-duty' as it is obviously useful for prevention of wax spills and fire hazards, but also a clever way to enhance the glow of the candle. The top, inner edge of the candle holder has screw-in ridges that will hold the candle firmly in place. The hole for the candle measures 2-1/4" wide from inner edge to inner edge. The candlesticks stand a majestic 33-1/8" Tall as shown in all except the last two images. All-over scrolling repeats at squared base in a design that includes a shell on each of the four sides. Base measures 9" x 9".   Solid Brass.  These candlesticks have been beautifully cleaned and polished with gentle care and great attention to nooks and crannies, using the best supplies. Because they have been under such close scrutiny, we can report that there is a small amount of visible vintage wear, most of which can be seen on the underside of one drip plate. This does not detract from the piece's beauty, as it is not evident from the upright position. Ease of shipping and storage: These wonderful candlesticks have an additional feature that begs being told: They can easily be dissassembled, without any tools, and screwed back together again-just as simply, with very close tolerances, (no wiggle).  They WILL be dissassembled for shipping. For those who'd rather not 'wing' it on re-assembly, we will include very simple instructions. Now for the 'Crowning Glory': Because the parts are interchangeable, they can be assembled 'normally' as the main pictures show, OR change them up...taller, shorter-as you wish!
