It was disassembled, reconditioned, and is guaranteed to work. The original paint on this phone is still in good condition. There is some wear from age but it displays very nicely. The 5H dial was cleaned and lightly lubricated. The Bakelite E1 handset was disassembled then thoroughly cleaned and buffed out. It is in beautiful condition with absolutely no cracks or chips. This phone dials out to make calls and has good voice quality transmitting and receiving. B 1 is stamped just below the cradle in the back and WESTERN ELECTRIC MADE IN USA PAT IN USA SEPT 16 24 PATS APP FOR is stamped on the back of the phone at the bottom. To make this more affordable I’ve installed a mini network that has the electronics used in a ringer box. It doesn’t ring but it does make it compatible with today’s phone system. You just use it like an extension phone and listen for your other phones to ring. I’ve installed new felt on the bottom cover along with new cloth covered cords. The line cord has a modern modular plug that fits today’s phone jacks so this one’s ready to plug in and use. There are light reflections on some pictures that may look like scuffs.
