The model is a Beolit 1000 made from 1968 to 1972, designed by Jacob Jensen and was the top of the portable range and  a very expensive radio at that time. It has four waveband and 3 pre-set stations for FM, AFC for FM receptions, separate tuning mechanism for AM and FM bands, treble and bass controls. The sound is fabulous. A little bit of history - In 1972 the Museum of Modern art in New York choose seven of Bang & Olufsen products  designed by Jacob Jensen to be included in their design collection as representing excellent examples of their critera for quality and historical importance - Beolit 1000 was one of those seven products.  As a former radiomechanic I have cleaned the radio meticulous and serviced it as needed. The radio has been partly restored. Because of the common problem with the aluminum frame around the scale glass is pitted, it has been polished and sprayed with a new thin clear coat as original. Mint condition black goat leather covers with beautiful grain structure - I never seen one with nicer covers. Excellent scale glass, no cracks, very nice knobs, end covers restored to like new condition. Handle is very presentable. The inside of this radio is like new with clean battery compartment as well, even the original diagram is still on one of the covers in a little envelope. Straight original and tight arial.  Properly working condition - a rare find in this condition!
