Description
Hello and welcome to my auction. Before giving you a description of this auction please read the following information carefully.   Payment:  To keep my auctions as simple as possible, I’ve decided to only accept payment via Paypal. Payment is due within three days of close of auction. (If you don’t have a Paypal account but would like to pay with a US Postal money order, contact me and maybe I can make an exception.)   Shipping:  I only ship to your Paypal confirmed US address, given to me with your payment. Sorry no international bidders. I gladly ship to US Military APO addresses. Stated shipping rates are for the lower 48 states only. Please contact me for shipping rates to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and APO/FPO addresses.   Because I’ve lost so much money with Ebay’s very inaccurate shipping calculators, I no longer use them in my auctions. Instead, I will email you the shipping options and rates based on your zip code, once the auction ends. (Most of my auctions specify a flat rate shipping fee.) I do my best to get your items in the mail within one or two days of the end of auction, unless it’s a weekend or holiday.   I do not make any profit on shipping and handling! I only charge actual shipping, plus the cost of any new boxes and packaging materials I may use. When possible, I try to ship in used boxes to save my customers money. I will always refund any overcharge in shipping fees via Paypal. (I frequently buy on Ebay and I hate to be ripped off by excessive shipping and handling charges!)   Combined shipping: If you purchase more than one item from me, and I’m able to safely ship them together in one box, I will be happy to save you money and send you a partial refund on shipping charges.   Insurance:  Mandatory for all items costing $100 or more.  This is to protect both of us from loss.  Below this amount, insurance is optional.    My Guarantee:  Unlike other sellers here on Ebay, I stand behind all my auctions and I offer all buyers a “No Hassle- Satisfaction Guarantee”.  If for any reason you are not happy when your item arrives, you may return it within 7 days of receipt for a cheerful refund, less all shipping charges. (New, sealed items must be returned in the same condition to receive a refund.)   Also, if you can show me that I have somehow misrepresented my auction, or that my auction description was in any way inaccurate or misleading, I will refund all your money, including all shipping charges!   I have over 1180 successful transactions on Ebay and my feedback rating stands at 100%. Rest assured that I am an honest and ethical seller.   Feedback:  Once I receive positive feedback indicating that our transaction was successful, I will be happy to leave positive feedback in return.  Please contact me with any problems you may have before leaving me neutral or negative feedback.  You’ll find that I’m a very friendly seller and easy to deal with.  I will bend over backwards to solve any problems regarding our auction.   Having said this, if you decide to leave me “negative feedback”, my “No Hassle- Satisfaction Guarantee” is null and void.  I will not refund your money, or accept any returns.  Your decision to leave me “negative feedback” ends our transaction, and I will not be open to any further discussion. This includes mediation using Ebay’s Square Trade program.      One final note, I reserve the right to cancel any and all bids from Ebay members who have chosen to keep their feedback comments “private” and hidden. I also reserve the right to cancel bids from buyers with an overall positive feedback rating 98.9% or less. If you fall into these two categories please contact me BEFORE placing your bid. Maybe I can make an exception.   By bidding on my auction you agree to all the above terms.  Thanks!     ************************************************   Up for bid is a beautiful, 100% original, 1903 Edison Phonograph.   I’ve owned this machine for about ten years now and it’s always been stored in a climate controlled vault. I had planned on keeping this antique for the rest of my life, but unexpected medical bills have forced me into selling some of my prized possessions.   As you can see in all the photos, the phonograph is in amazingly good condition! The wood, finish, paint, lettering, striping, nickel plating, hardware, brass horn etc. show only very minor wear. The only defect worth noting is a scratch on the left hand side of the lid that is visible in the photo. As far as I know, most of the parts are original and the phonograph has never been restored. (I'm sure the belt and possibly some springs have been replaced.)   Before taking the photos for this auction, I checked the operation of the phonograph. After a few cranks, the spring operated mechanism turned quietly and strong. It’s obvious that this phonograph has been very well taken care of during the past 105 years.   Also included in this auction: -an Edison phonograph owner’s manual (reproduction) -a very nice Edison advertisement lithograph (suitable for framing) -one Edison phonograph cylinder record   My opening bid of $549.00 is a true bargain and hundreds less than what I paid for this phonograph.   This auction will be shipped for a flate rate of $80.00 via UPS ground. (Lower 48 states only) This is a very heavy item. Insurance and tracking is included. I only charge exact shipping plus the cost of a new box and shipping supplies. Any overcharge in shipping is always refunded.   If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.   Good luck and Happy Bidding!   Mike   ************************************************
