CONDITION: It does have a cracked yoke in two places, but has been repaired with a riveting. There is light surface rust and it needs a TLC cleaning. Otherwise it appears to be in good and solid condition with only the normal found imperfections found with the old cast iron molded bells (see photos). SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Overall it measures approx. 15” x 24” x 25” with 16 ¼” between the yoke rests and 1 1/8” diameter pivots. Separately, the bell weighs approx. 59 pounds and measures approx. 24” long by 18” wide by 15” high. The yoke weighs approx. 9 ½ pounds and measures approx. 23” long by 19” high by 3 ½” wide. ITEM INFO: This is a rare and very old bell to add to your collection or display or use for all your ring-a-ling needs! It is a large bell made of cast iron. We are not sure if it was for a church or a school or farm, or even just a dinner bell. It is identified on the bell as a #3 and on the yoke you will find the following printing: American Foundary Co. Northville Mich. U.S.A. A good indicator of the age of this bell is the repair done on the yoke. It is so old it was repaired prior to the welding age, as the repair is done with riveting!
