This is a beautifully designed pewter figurine. In Sprucin’ Up, Heyda sets the stage to end a separation. He adds the sentiment of a homecoming bouquet, and gives us a peek at the momentary vanity of a tough outdoorsman.  For humor, he throws in the mocking of a horse’s gaze. But, how these things came to be, and what will come next, is left to the collector. The detail work on this figurine is outstanding. The horse is beautifully done as is the saddle, horse blanket, bouquet of flowers, the hat, fence and the cowboy’s clothes etc. The cowboy is in the process of combing his hair as he has the comb in his right hand and a mirror in his left hand. This is a heavy and impressive figurine. The details are quite exquisite.  The figurine is numbered 185 in a limited edition of only 350 pieces! It is Chilmark #8173. The base measures approximately 9-1/2" wide and the figurine measures approximately 6-1/2" wide. The figurine has the gold Chilmark seal and it is inscribed L. Heyda and Chilmark fine pewter. Underneath the figurine there is another seal that says Sprucin’ Up, Lawrence Heyda, Chilmark, Fine Pewter, and Handcrafted at Hudson Creek USA. The figurine comes in the original box. The figurine is brand new and has never been displayed.
