It is a wonderfully detailed God Statue in the Wood Finish. Measures about 10 x 7 x 4 inches. He is a suberb companion piece to The Moon Goddess (also listed in my eBay store now!). The base reads: I am the seed of Light that awakens the soul of Nature from Raven Grimassi I also listed the matching Large and Small Moon Pentacles and the Crescent Moon Candleholders. These pieces are all designed to look wonderful together on your altar. Lugh, pronounced ~Loo~, was a Sun God. His name means ~the shining one~, was considered a Good God, meaning he was good at everything. Worshipped as the God of Fire, he also presided over metallurgy, crafting, weaving and as protector of the weak. Lughnasadh, the Sabbat celebrated in August, is named for him. A primary deity of the Druids, Lugh sometimes took human form and worshipped alongside them. He is a wonderful God to call upon when one doesn't know how to proceed, because he can do, or assist with, anything. Lugh is often associated with the Greek God Apollo, and more statues and holy sites were erected to this handsome God than to any other Celtic deity. The close-up of the boots (look at the authentic detailing on the leather wrapping) and the face shows the Stone finish (also available) The reverse side is as great as the front! All designs are originally hand carved from wood or stone by artist Paul Borda. The original, replicas and all photographic images are protected by copyright. The average original takes from 300 to 500 hours to carve. What you see listed is a Resin replica of the original.
