Hi Everyone, thanks for visiting our auction. Hope you are doing better than me with upside-down mortgages, and $5 diesel. Whew! OK, and this is for sale with NO RESERVE! Yep, someone is going to win this phonograph cabinet and the other radios and phonos we have up on Ebay too! Mortgages need paying, boats need gas, I need bait, and the kids are complaining about macaroni and cheese out of the box 7 nites a week again, so I gotta sell something. I hate to do this – we had 1 or 2 of each model outside horn Victor phonographs, but we have been selling them, which are our personal collection, the nicest we have had. We haven’t been selling many phonos for the last 5 years or so – there was a book published about 15 years ago that featured my collection – “Phono-Graphics” by Arnold Schwartzman, if you remember that or have a copy. Anyways, here is a record cabinet I bought for myself years ago, been in the living room all these years with a nice Victor V on it, this held the phono I listened to most every day. I was going to restore it, but it looks so good, I never bothered. I’ll miss it when it leaves, but my loss is your gain. This will be an outstanding key piece in a collection, or a beautiful stand alone cabinet displaying a single phonograph to enjoy, display and play in your living room. This is one of the best looking of the 100 year old record cabinets, and for original it is in remarkably good shape. It does have small veneer problems, you can see a piece of scotch tape on a top corner holding a small piece that chipped off, I never got around to gluing it back. The only other bad thing is one of the feet is missing two toes. Considering the other foot is the same, an easy job to make a mold and cast new toes, again, I just never got to it. The records do NOT come with the cabinet, I been using it to hold my old and new records and some of my cylinders. The pictures show the phonograph cabinet condition well and accurately. I know the winner will be pleased. I will pack safely using all new packing materials and boxes. OK, this will be crated and shipped by UPS. The good news is that UPS takes big and heavy stuff nowadays. I will make a wood crate for $25, shipping will be at cost. I looked and shipping cross country was $175, if you are closer it will be less. Please consider this packing/shipping/insuring charge when you are bidding. Thanks for looking at our auction.
