Description
Here for your consideration, is an old Edison Model E Phonograph. This is being sold as a restoration project, or parts item. This is missing many parts, so please view in the photo's exactly what this sale consists of. I am not familiar with this type of phono, so I will do my best to describe it. I have taken all 12 photo's, so if you need more, I will have to forward them to you. If I miss anything, or if you have any questions, please ask. As I mentioned before, this is missing parts. But what is here, I would consider to be in very good condition. The case is of oak, and in great shape. The 2 lid locks on the side, are fully functional. There are no breaks, and it still has its original finish. The wood handle on the lid is very nice. On the inside of the lid, are some papers from Edison. They are stuck together, but what I make out from them, it looks like instructions to switch from 2 to 4 minute playing. The hinges that lifts the bed are loose, but still intact, and work nice. When I lifted the bed up, the only thing underneath was some small springs, screws, etc. The motor is missing. The bedplate is in nice condition, with no breaks. Still has most of its stenciling. The 2 MINUTE 4 with arrows is still present, just missing the color. The serial number on this machine is #359530. The mandrel on this looks nice, however it doesn't turn freely. It turns hard by hand, so I really do not know if this is normal. The reproducer on this is the type O. It is a 2 to 4 minute type, and I believe it to be good. It even has the carriage brush attached. The 2 to 4 minute switch, was with the screws & springs. I have pictured these parts in the last photo. I do not have the crank to this. However, I do have the horn that came with this. Because of its size (huge), I am not listing this. I really don't know if it is the original one, anyway. I have pictured this horn in the last photo. If I were to list this horn, I would have UPS pack and ship it. It is much too large for me, and I would be too nervous of damage. Or if someone locally had interest, I would be willing to list it pick-up only. Please let me know if there is any interest in it. Now back to what is for sale. Overall, this is a very nice player to restore, or to use as parts. Please enlarge the photo's, and take a good look. Please remember that this not a complete player, you are bidding only on what is in the photo's. Again the horn is not part of this sale.I am starting this out low, and I have a low reserve on it. Please don't ask me for a buy it now price. I let all my items run their coarse. Because of this size and weight, it does have a high shipping cost. I always refund any excessive shipping costs. I also welcome pick-ups. Thank you for your time, and good luck.
