Description
Edison Suitcae Home Phonograph Shaver Knife I couldn’t get a good picture of this as it’s so small. This is off an 1898 Edison Suitcase Home carriage shaver assembly from a said machine I used to own with last patent date of ‘98. I think it will fit any of the Home or Standard shavers, but would be most appropriate for an early Suitcase Home restoration. I misplaced it when I had the machine, and just found it, years after I sold the machine. As you can see, the edges are not square, but I’m not sure that this is not original since many shaving machines have the same phemenon, and have an azimuth adjustment for cutting angle anyway. The edge is not chewed up. I think that since these machines didn’t have enough power to shave anyway, which is why Edison discontinued the attachment on later models, I can’t imagine this was used even near enough to have worn. There are no traces of wax/redidue on it so I don’t think it was used much at all. Talk about a hard part/piece to find…..I’ll be sure and pack it so that you can find/identify it when you open the package.
