Description
You are bidding on a collection of over 1500 episodes of three of the most popular radio programs of all times, "Fibber McGee and Molly" , "The Great Gildersleeve" and "Amos & Andy" . These programs are in the MP3 audio format and are on 17 MP3 CD discs. Fibber McGee & Molly  starred Jim and Marion Jordan. There are over 750 episodes in this collection. This program debuted in 1935 and was a staple throughout the golden age of radio. Also included is an interview with Jim Jordan in his later years, movie clips and still photos, and 0ver 30 guest appearances on other radio shows such as Dinah Shore and Bing Crosby, vintage World War II public service programs,  as well as 5 episodes of Good Old Time Radio, a potpourri of radio.  All stored on 8 MP3 CDs. Amos & Andy starred Freeman Gosden, Charles Correll, Ernestine Wade, and Amanda Randolph in what is considered the first "great" radio show, the beginning of what today is known as the "situation comedy". Gosden and Correll never looked at each other during the broadcast, to avoid cracking up, and the show was not rehearsed, to ensure spontaneity. Starting in 1926 as Sam and Henry, they became so popular that over 40 million people a week listened to them, and movie theatres stopped shows and brought a radio on-stage so their viewers would not miss any of the shows. There are 292 episodes stored on 3 MP3 CDs. There are 517 Great Gildersleeve episodes starting in 1941 when it debuted.  "The Great Gildersleeve" was a spin-off of "Fibber McGee and Molly", and you often heard guest apperances by cast members in each others shows. The shows starred Hal Peary and Harold Waterman during the series' run. Also includes the complete Honest Harold radio show starring Hal Peary as well. They are stored on 6 MP3 CDs. A free software MP3 player is included for installation on your computer.   Copyright-Only Dedication (based on United States law) or Public Domain Certification The person or persons who have associated work with this document (the "Dedicator" or "Certifier") hereby either (a) certifies that, to the best of his knowledge, the work of authorship identified is in the public domain of the country from which the work is published, or (b) hereby dedicates whatever copyright the dedicators holds in the work of authorship identified below (the "Work") to the public domain. A certifier, morever, dedicates any copyright interest he may have in the associated work, and for these purposes, is described as a "dedicator" below. A certifier has taken reasonable steps to verify the copyright status of this work. Certifier recognizes that his good faith efforts may not shield him from liability if in fact the work certified is not in the public domain. A dedicator makes this dedication for the benefit of the public at large and to the detriment of the Dedicator's heirs and successors. Dedicators intend this dedication to be an overt act of relinquishment in perpetuity of all present and future rights under copyright law, whether vested or contingent, in the Work. Dedicator understand that such relinquishment of all rights includes the relinquishment of all rights to enforce (by lawsuit or otherwise) those copyrights in the Work. Dedicator recognizes that, once placed in the public domain, the Work may be freely reproduced, distributed, transmitted, used, modified, built upon, or otherwise exploited by anyone for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial, and in any way, including by methods that have not yet been invented or conceived. After a careful search of the Library of Congress and the United States Trademark and Patent Office, it has been determined that the programs listed for sale here are in the Public Domain. They are being offered with the understanding that no valid or active copyright, trademark, and/or patent exsist for them. These recordings are sold for private home listening and use only. No broadcast rights are stated, implied, or given. I assume no responsibility for unauthorized use of these programs. They are listed in accordance with current Ebay policies concerning selling Public Domain materials.   It used to be you could only listen MP3 files on your computer's CD or DVD drive. But newer component CD/DVD players may be capable of playing MP3 files in their native format. So you are not limited to only your computer. But high bidders are responsible for  checking for that compatability. It is also possible to transfer these programs to an MP3 player such as an iPod (using iTunes). That is how I listen to them, and the results are quite good.    High bidder prepays via PayPal, no other electronic payments/online escrow/credit cards or CODs accepted. NO SALES TAX IN OREGON!!! Also pays shipping/handling fee of $4.80 within the US, international shipping to be determined after auction close. Email contact within 3 days of auction close, payment due within 7 days. *NOTE* No Bids will be accepted from old time radio program dealers or sellers! Email ANY questions BEFORE bidding.
