The original manufacture date is 1949. It has been totally disassembled, cleaned, polished, dial calibrated, and lightly oiled, brand new cloth cords, reassembled and tested.  All worn parts replaced with new old original stock (no re-manufactured or newly made parts). We bought this phone for my Dad last year, but he passed away suddenly a few months ago. He wanted a phone with a "real ringer" and "real weight" like when he was growing up ... no digital for him!  However, digital dialing does have its merits (like to enter PIN numbers etc. when calling the bank) so we are including a digital tone generator ($50 value: hold it to the mouthpiece, press the digits and it generates the required digital signature tones), so you can have this old-fashioned phone and still have modern convenience. The only "modern" part on this phone is the standard modular telephone plug that was added for convenience. There may be several other similar telephones out there on e-Bay, but I challenge any of them to match the quality of this refurbish job! Even the dial (the first part to show wear, tear and soil) looks brand new!  This phone can be shipped via UPS insured anywhere in the US for a flat $15 fee.  Shipping outside the US is possible, but the buyer is responsible for all duties, taxes and national compatibility issues.
