Description
Walnut GE General Electric Vintage Stereo w/ Speakers Up for Auction here is a Vintage AM FM Stereo by General Electric (GE).    This is like having the first ever "Boom Box" !!  The case is made of beautiful walnut wood and their doesn't even seem to be a scratch or blemish on it at all.   The only issue I found with this radio is that the paper on the back that tells you the info on the radio is faded.   So faded in fact that I can't really make out the print on it to give you any specs on the radio.   All I know is that I plugged it in and it worked just fine.   You have to get right on the station though to get the sound to come out in both speakers.  I assume this is due to the feed having to be stereo coming in, to put stereo out.   I'm sure if you hooked your old record player to this (which their is a place to do so on the back) you would most definitely get stereo sound.   Again, No damage as far as I can see.  I looked over real well and can't seem to find any.   I don't know much about vintage radios so I can't tell you for sure if its a transistor or tube radio.   The speakers are attached to the radio and they close on the front with those magnet clasps that you find on a glass cabinet.   They fold open to reveal the stereo with 5 knobs to tweak this thing the way you want it.   Also, the speakers are, like I said, on hinges but you can lift them off and put them anywhere you like in your space to give you even better surround stereo sound.   Their is a plug on the back of the housing and a plug on the side of each speaker.   Just get some speaker wires and attach them and your in business.  It measures 18" X   7-1/2" X   11-1/2".   Also, their is no damage on the cloth covering the speakers.   It's like this piece was bought and never used. All except the paper on the back is in like new condition  so, bid high and bid now.   This should sell fast and will most certainly make a vintage radio collector very pleased.
