This slide was used to advertise before the first movie and during intermission in the old Regent Theatre (closed in 1972) located on the Capricorn Coast near Rockhampton in Central Queensland. THE SLIDE IS AN ORIGINAL - there were no duplicates of this slide in the complete collection from the theatre. ONCE IT IS SOLD THERE ARE NO OTHER COPIES. Slide contains an image of a young woman in a long green dress seated beside a wood-grained AWA RADIOLA RADIOGRAM, obviously enjoying its dulcet tones. States "COMPLETE HOME ENTERTAINMENT". AGE LATE 1940s or EARLY 1950s - the style of the radiogram and the dress of the woman indicates that it is definitely no later. Whole slide measures about 3¼ inches (8cms) square. The emulsion is on one slide, another slide placed in front to protect it and edges taped with black paper tape. The image was projected onto the movie screen from a lantern slide projector. CONDITION: WONDERFUL CONDITION FOR SUCH A FRAGILE ITEM. EMULSION is in excellent condition - CENTRAL IMAGE AND WRITING ARE CRYSTAL CLEAR. On very close inspection there is a thin slightly hazy band underneath the central image. Black paper binding tape on edges in excellent condition - ALL SECURE. PHOTOS taken with back-lighting.
