FINDLAY for repair work including pipe threading, battery charging and engineering work. This slide is typical of the era finished in rich colours with a large central image and completed in a ticket writing style. This slide was used to advertise before the first movie and during intermission in the old Regent Theatre (closed in 1972) located on the Capricorn Coast near Rockhampton in Central Queensland. THE SLIDE IS A UNIQUE ORIGINAL - it was a one-off produced by "Bulletin Slides" for H.W. Findlay who also ran the picture theatre. There were no duplicates of this slide in the complete collection from the theatre. ONCE IT IS SOLD THERE ARE NO OTHER COPIES. Whole slide measures about 3¼ inches (8cms) square. The emulsion is on one slide, another slide placed in front to protect it and edges taped with black paper tape. The image was projected onto the movie screen from a lantern slide projector. CONDITION: EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION FOR SUCH A FRAGILE ITEM. EMULSION is in excellent condition - CENTRAL IMAGE AND WRITING ARE CRYSTAL CLEAR.
