Description
Up for your consideration is a vintage Griswold Cast Iron Wafer / Waffle Maker made in the early 20th (1880) century. It is made of cast iron and has a design of a wreath of leaves around the border, and a sort of urn or vase design with stylized flowers. This one is usually know by collectors as " Easter Lily" pattern, and is found on 20th century wafer irons & Krumkake irons. There is one located in the museum of American History, Smithsonian Institute. This is used to make Krumkake to set over heat source ( gas or wood). They were meant to be removed from the heat in a couple ofminutes to make a flaky cake like waffle. There is very little age wear on the PAT logo. Otherwise, excellent condition. This is great!! Where can you find this great piece! Marked : PAT JUNE 29, 1880 #894 marked on the underside #895 on the lid. on the opposite of the lid it is marked GRISWOLD MFG. CO. ERIE PA
