I say "portable" because if you remove the back cover there are connections attached  that look like you can attach a nine volt battery and some other type of battery/220 volt current?  if needed. There is also the standard plug. I really don't know much about it, as I picked it up at a garage sale because it looked kinda cool. It's definitely old, maybe early 50's? It looks like it has four tubes and a 4" or so speaker. I plugged it in and it makes a low hum, but I didn't get any actual sound out of it, although I really don't know what the heck I'm doing. The model number inside on the tag says "5R24". It's all there, and I assume it may work with the right person operating it that knows about these but there are no guarantees that it works. I'm starting the auction at $9.99, only because it's probably worth at least that for the tubes & parts. Shipping & Insurance to the lower 48 is $10 to the lower 48, other areas & Canada more.
