Description
Manufacturer: Hyatt Model #: A Electrical condition: The radio works. I hooked up a power supply to it and a very long antenna and it received a local station but there was minimal selectivity. I have since been told that I should have used a shorter antenna and probably would have received more stations and had better selectivity. The fact that the radio is working would indicate that the quantity 6 #99 tubes are also working. #99 tubes are rather expensive and could be sold separately on ebay for a handsome price but I feel that they should go with the radio. Physical Condition: 11" tall x 15" wide x 9-1/2" deep. The speckles on the front panel is dust that really lights up when the flash hits it. Dust loves bakelite in a warm dry house during heating season. Some wear on the case, primarily at the corners but far less than expected for its age, no cracks in the front bakelite panel, all of the knobs are original, in good condition, and do not have any cracks or chips, the knobs are correct, Paper tag on the inside of the back lid is original with some staining at the bottom. The inside of the set is very clean. All of the battery connecting wires are clean. The ship antenna is very unusual, in great condition, and complete. It even has the little metal holder for the connector at the lower part of the motif. The antenna assembly covers the front of the radio. The carry handle is missing. It was probably leather and wore away due to age. An color copy of the original owners manual comes with the set. Overall a very very good radio. Far above average. Shipping: Item will be shipped and insured to any location in the lower 48 states for $29.99. Shipping to other locations will be actual charge plus a $10.00 packing fee. Please consider this when bidding. The item will be packed well so as to arrive in the condition described. Other Information: This radio is very unusual and unlike many sets of the 1920's, could be proudly displayed in a living area in the home. The fact that it works would make it even more interesting. The starting bid is much lower than market value. Payment methods: Paypal accepted. Payment due within 10 days of the auction end. Refund Policy: If you feel that this item has not been accurately described, send the item back and we will send you a check equal to your bid price. Shipping charges either way are not refunded. Purchasing and owning antiques should be fun and we want you to be happy with your purchase. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
