Made of brass cash coins attached to a central rod using lucky red string, which this had but it is very faded, and the swords are considered most effective when the coins have the same inscriptions. Here is a coin sword on consignment from a little "Elf" friend of mine who acqiured this in San Fransisco when he lived and worked as a Jewler in the late 60's-70's. He actually knew Janis Joplin. So he has had this for going on forty years. Anyway, I looked up what this sword could mean and I found the information in the British Museum. He can't recall much about it but hey, it was the 60's after all. We believe this to be an authentic Coin sword and the coins look to be very old. My "Elf" friend tells me that the string was in fact red at one time but has faded. It may be missing a few coins but not sure. It needs to be restored. I think it is facinating !
