It's reflective, mirror-like shine and etching looks so elegant! It has a unique "starburst" design that looks Art Deco to me. It's a choice example of the beauty of Italian artistry.  18/10 Stainless is also referred to as "316" Stainless Steel. This is considered a high quality, strong grade. The tray weighs about 2-3 lbs and is certainly not flimsy! It measures 14 1/4" round. The bottom is marked completely in Italian. The english translations are indicated in parentheses: "brevettato"  (patent) / "inox" (stainless steel) / "piatto" (dish) / termico" (thermal or heat resistant). The name "franzfer" is written in script. I was told it was purchased in the late 60's/early 70's, kept in plastic in it's original box and was rarely used. Considering the nice condition of this piece, I believe it! The box is also in nice condition. There are no tears and the box is still stiff. One corner is wrinkled a little bit. I tried to take pictures showing as much detail as possible.
