Description
A rare opportunity to own such a beautiful piece of sterling silver work from Navajo Native American Indian Coolidge Nez. It is signed with his symbol: an O V with an arc. He was a bench silver smith for Manny Goodman and the Covered Wagon. This piece received the 1966 New Mexico State Fair First Prize. The cross uses the silver overly technique that is usually associated with Hopi Pueblo silversmiths, and an oxidized three-dimensional edge that provides a shadow effect. Measures approximately 8.5 inches long and 5.25 inches wide; it is 1 inch wide at the thickest point at the bottom; weighs a hefty 3 ounces. Definitely one-of-a-kind.From a smoke-free home.
