Description
I am offering ONE Limited Edition Lloyd Lillie Bronze sculpture Commemorating the nation's Bicentennial. Lloyd Lillie is from Boston Mass. and is considered to be one of Americas most talented sculptor's. His works have been exhibited in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. He was commissioned by the U.S. National Parks service and the American Museum of Immigration to create sculptures. He has also completed a life size statue of Thomas Jefferson for the Jefferson National Museum of Westward Expansion in St Louis. This sculpture is one of a series of 8 Lloyd Lillie Limited Edition pieces, distributed by the American Chronicle Collection, Inc. of Wallingford, Conn. They where manufactured by The J. B. Coggins Mfg. Co. of Meriden, Conn. The sculpture is produced by the intricate Cire Perdue, or Lost Wax casting method, which involves molton bronze being heated up to temperatures of 1950-2200 degrees F and poured into the molds of the various model statues. The ONE and ONLY statue that I am offering for this sale, is called "THE SAILOR". It is a representation of a sailor in Glover's Marblehead Regiment. It measures approx. 7 3/4" H. It mounted on a base of polished Honduran Mahogany. The base measures approx. 3" X 3" X 1 1/2" H. The statue weighs approx 1 lb 7 oz. The statue is stamped with individual letters- Lillie '76. This statue is in excellent condition. It comes with a copy of the American Chronicle collection sales letters and it's original description tag, plus an original 8 X 10 glossy photo that was included with the letters. This will provide providence for the serious collector.  The statue does not come with any type box. The statue will be carefully packed and insured for shipping. As stated in my description, this sale is for ONE statue of "The Sailor" ONLY!!  I have two other statues that are also up for sale. I will include a photo of each in my description photos. This will be done as so a perspective buyer can have an opportunity to purchase all three pieces. That is why I'm including the "Buy it Now" option. This is truly a once in a life time chance to own a collectible, that is not only beautiful and will increase in value over time. Search Lloyd Lillie to view all 3 listings. Please contact me with your inquiries. I have included some photos to help you make your purchasing decision. Please contact me for any additional information you may require before making your purchase. This item is being sold on a FINAL SALE - AS IS basis with a no returns policy. These are considered standard terms with all auctions type sales. I go to great lengths to describe my items as accurately as possible, as so the buyer will not be misinformed as to the status of the article I am selling. I will accept bids from first time buyers, as long as they are serious buyers, and are committed to completing the transaction. Please check out my other auctions and my ebay store.   Thanks for your interest in my items.
