Sometime in the mid to late 1940's. This iron is in truely fine condition, really NOS (new old stock) as I don't believe the iron was ever used. It has spectacular streamline design inspired by aeronautical and automotive design with it's wrap-around deco lines that make it look as if it's in motion. It brings to mind the designs of Henry Dreyfuss and Walter Dorwin Teague among others. What makes this highly collectable is not only the condition but the fact that it still retains it's original box which is in good to fair condition. This iron is on display in many museums of modern art including the Wolfsonian in Miami . This is a fantastic example of machine age streamlined modern industrial design in really excellent condition. The iron has a switch on the top for 110 or 220 AC and comes with a UK style adapter plug (still plastic wrapped!) The iron is heavy but compact measuring approximately 2"x3" I did plug it in and the iron got very hot very quickly but as it is over 60 years old I am selling it for display only AS IS NO REFUNDS.
