Description
MICKEY MOUSE EMERSON RADIO 5x7.25x7.25" tall solid wood radio w/pressed wood composition panels on four sides. Each panel has great high relief image of Mickey playing a different instrument. Front panel has diecut design of him playing a bass. Left panel is of him w/tuba, right panel he has flute and top panel he has piano. Front bottom edge has an attached small metal plate w/raised text "Emerson Mickey Mouse" wlDisney copyright. One of two different style radios produced in the 1930s by Emerson although the other variety featured Mickey only on the front panel. Radio is missing antenna wire and no longer works but internal parts are complete and has original electric cord. Back panel has only small remnant of Emerson paper label. The two bakelite knobs on front both have several small scattered chips from the inner rim edge only noticeable when viewed closely and at an angle, not apparent when viewed straight on. Underside has three of four original rubber feet although one is a bit flattened, fourth foot is missing. Body of radio shows small scattered traces of surface wear but no serious defects and all sides still have deep rich brown color. Top panel has overall scattered wear to the glossy finish but this finish remains on front, right and left sides. The speaker cover is complete and intact. Still a VF example for display of this scarce item, one of the classic 1930s Disney collectibles
