NOS-NR' Description SquareTrade © AP6.0 BUY-IT-NOW and Shipping in U.S.A and  CANADA is FREE.  Are you looking for an original military HEADSET with a nominal Impedance of 600 Ohms?   We are pleased to offer a never used, never opened in original box and sealed package containing one each original  VIETNAM era HS-16/A Military Headset with brown cloth cord.  If you're looking for an original great sounding HS-16/A HEADSET, with a grand flair of nostalgia, then these vintage WWII designed military, olive drab, cloth covered, with adjustable double NICKEL PLATED steel band are for you.  Circa 1965.  I was told that these were originally destined for use with a Radio Set that was provided to the Vietnamese villages and later designated Vietnam Village Radios. HEADPHONE Impedance is nominal 520 Ohms.  I was told that THE HICKOK COMPANY specifically chose the HS-16/A for aural monitoring for microphonic defects when testing vacuum tubes on the commercial and military Dynamic Electron Tube Testers. Of course, I consider microphonic tubes like RARE DX, they only come along once in awhile. In fact, it reminds me of searching for a SONAR target.  When you rotate the function switch throught the SHORTS position you receive a resonating ping.  If it stays up in intensity, you have a problem.  The HS-16/A consists of dual magnetic element with plastic cap and shell earpieces.  Just a note to mention that the vintage  54 inch long brown cloth-covered cord w/dual nickel plated pins is also highly sought after by antique and vintage radio restorers.  Great for those vintage HALLICRAFTERS military and shortwave radio receivers with speaker or headset pin jacks on the rear panel.   These Vietnam era headsets are the remanufactured versions of the famous HS-16 of WWII and the Korean Conflict.  A must for the serious collector and user of old radios, especially those that have the headset pin jacks such as the famous HALLICRAFTERS S-38 Short-Wave Receivers.  This headset was packaged  42 plus years ago.
