Description
Here's a beautiful little portable radio that I've had for about 18 years. Most of that time it has set on the shelf. I have many other interests and more radios than I can llisten to, and would like to now pass this on to a person who can use it or at least display it so someone gets some enjoyment out of it. It is pretty much undamaged. The mirror on the inside of the lid shows some signs of age (should be easy to replace, should you desire - I wouldn't, it's not that bad). I don't think there's a ding anywhere in the cloth covering of the case, but it has a bit of an overall dingy look to it, probably not quite as pretty and bright as when new. I don't know if there's something that can be used to spruce it up a bit. I've never tried cleaning it except with a damp cloth to wipe off dust. The radio works well on AC. It takes two types of batteries if you want to power it on DC. E-mail me if you want to know what it says on the label as regard to type or voltage. I'm listening to Peggy Lee, Fever, right now on our local oldies station. There is a bit of a problem in getting it to operate at low volume on the strongest station. When it's turned down to it's lowest, it is still fairly loud. Might start working better if someone would play it more often. I've probably not had it turned on for about five years. There's a compartment in the back half of the case for storage of your suntan lotion, or whatever. The front pulls open when the top is raised for access to batteries, cord, or internal parts. I do not believe in playing games with reserves. I'm pricing this at the lowest I'd be comfortable with, to part with a neat little radio. I think it is worth more. Better make a bid and get it now if you want one. It might be awhile before you find a better one. I don't watch the radios on eBay all the time, but I've only seen one other like this at the times I've checked in the past six or eight years, and it was not in great shape. I've never seen another one as I've shopped the flea markets, antique malls, and shows, and I go to lots of them. (Whoops! Just looked at listings and I see someone else is selling one like this. However, it is brown faux snakeskin covered, not nearly as pretty, has some scratches, and is missing the emblem on the front - where would you find another?) I will ship this in the U. S. for whatever USPS charges for a nine pound package from my zip to yours. Please check my other auctions for more interesting items.
