Description
Manufacturer: National Model #: HRO-7 Electrical condition: I plugged everything together and brought the set up slow with a variac and the set pulled approximately 1 amp and the dial lit up. Unfortunately, I do not know how to work this set as I am a radio guy, not a ham guy. Luckily, for someone smart enough, the original manual comes with the set. The set must be of better quality since it uses qty 12 tubes (13 tubes if you include the power supply). The main center dial spins and turns the variable capacitor. The variable capacitor to dial connection appears to be geared to make the set very sensitive. The inside of the set is very clean. All of the knobs turn and appear to be turning whatever inside. There are several plug in coils I think that they are called that come with the set. They are 3.5 MC to 7.2 MC (the one presently installed in the set); 3.5MC to 7.3 (graph on front); .48MC to .96;.9MC to 2.05; 1.7MC to 4.0; 7.0MC to 14.4; 6.7MC to 14.4; 13.0MC to 30MC. Physical Condition: The main unit is 10-1/2" tall x 20" wide x 11" deep. The main unit has some wear and scratches on the case and some tape residue on the front, probably from something taped on the front. I would consider it in average condition overall. All of the knobs appear to be original and in good condition showing wear from use, and do not have any cracks or chips, the knobs are correct. The speaker has a wood case and is in good condition. The power supply has what appears to be a newer line cord with a fused plug. The power supply is in good physical condition and the tube in it makes for tube #13 for the set. The coils all appear to be in good shape. The 3.5 to 7.3 unit has some evidence of grinding on the front aluminum faceplace, maybe to get a good fit. Overall, the condition appears to be used but not abused. Shipping: Radio will be shipped and insured to any location in the lower 48 states for $89.99. Shipping to other locations will be actual charge + $10.00 packing fee. If you are a foreign buyer, realize that it may not be possible to ship this to you via the post office due to its size. Please consider this when bidding. The radio will be packed well so as to arrive in the condition described. Payment methods: Paypal accepted. Payment due within 10 days of the auction end. Refund Policy: If you feel that this item has not been accurately described, send the item back and we will send you a check equal to your bid price. Shipping charges either way are not refunded. Purchasing and owning antiques should be fun and we want you to be happy with your purchase. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
