Carving is sublime and golden finish is expertly rendered. I found it in Kathmandu, Nepal. Nepal is a Hindu country in the valley and a Buddhist country in the mountains. It is a great example of peaceful coexistense of two great religions.This is a mask representing the Hindu God Shiva. Shiva is the most revered in the Hindu Pantheon of Deities and argueably it’s top God (don’t tell that to the Krishna devotees). At the top of the Deity later are three Deities Shiva, Brahma, & Vishnu. Each with different qualities.
