Description
SPECIAL...SPECIAL...SPECIAL ATTENTION EBAY BUYERS: AS OF RIGHT NOW (9:00 PM EST, WEDNESDAY, 11/19) THE BEST OFFER OVER $999.00, MADE WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS TAKES THIS BEAUTY HOME!!! ***THIS AUCTION WILL END AT 9:01 PM EST, FRIDAY 11/21.*** For your consideration is a very large, very detailed, and extremely rare original artist signed bronze sculpture depicting a U.S. Trooper entitled "Mike 1885" This bronze sculpture is by Fredric Arnold, an artist, actor, author, and WWII fighter pilot. You can find additional information about him by searching on the internet. This bronze sculpture is just absolutely gorgeous in every way. The detail is superb. You can see the detail in his carbine, the rope he carries, even the spurs on his boots. The bronze has the historic US brand on the horse, the stirrups, and the various implements of his trade. You will not find a more authentic and detailed depiction of a true icon of the American west. The sculpture is extremely heavy, weighing approximately 30-35 lbs. It sits on a solid oiled walnut plinth. The sculpture with base is approximately: 19" inches long, 21" inches tall, and 7" wide. The patina is a beautiful deep brown, with various shades assigned to the different equipment, horse, and soldiers clothing. Impressed in the bronze is the artist's signature, the title of the bronze, the date of creation (1979), and the numbers 12/35, indicating this is number 12 of an original edition of 35. This bronze edition was sold out shortly after its release, and is seldom available on the open market. If you want just one bronze sculpture for your home, this should be it. It would be the centerpiece of any collection. Please view the pictures, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding. I would prefer local pickup on this item, as the shipping will be expensive. If the successful bidder wants it shipped, I will ship it via UPS, at the winners expense, and at the winners risk. Although insurance is included in the Shipping Fees, once I have delivered the item to the carrier, all risk is on the buyer. I am estimating the shipping and insurance to be approximately $100.00 to the lower 48 states. Shipping to other countries will have to be determined by the destination. Foreign buyers are encouraged to contact me for a shipping estimate prior to bidding. Unless grossly misrepresented, I do not accept returns. Good Luck.
