Old 1943 USMC Marine Corps Military Fatigues UNIFORM Start Price USD 19.95 Current Price USD 380.00 Time Left - Bid Count 30 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, November 17, 2008 End Time Monday, November 24, 2008 Location Phillipsburg, KS See more about 'Old 1943 USMC Marine Corps Military Fatigues UNIFORM' Description Offered for auction is this neat old vintage original 1943 Set of World War II era " USMC - UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS " COMBAT FATIGUES.  Purchased at an Estate Auction several weeks ago right here in Kansas.  Made of a green colored herringbone twill patterned material that have been heavily starched, folded and in storage for many years.  We do not know a whole lot about these so will do our best to describe them and provide the photos above and below.  The " SHIRT / JACKET " has a single left hand chest pocket (with sewn in pencil pocket) which is marked in black colored lettering USMC, and a black colored silhouette of the globe, anchor and eagle MARINE CORPS Insignia.  Two large waist pockets on each side of the lower front.  The chest pocket is very lightly marked on the inside of the shirt with four lines of black colored lettering.  It is very hard to make out, but when held just right in the light we can possibly? make out; ???  B. ROSENBLUUM, INC. - CONTRACT ?????? - DATED MAY 2?, 1943 - COATS, UT ???   ???.  Four metal buttons on the front include three black ones marked  U. S. MARINE CORPS, and one odd greenish brown colored metal button? in the center (see photos below).  Wrist cuffs each have two U. S. MARINE CORPS black colored metal buttons.  Shirt / Jacket measures approximately;  31 1/4" in total length (back of the collar to the bottom waist seam) - 22 1/2" in chest width (arm pit to arm pit), 21" in shoulder width (shoulder seam to shoulder seam), 23 1/2" in arm length (shoulder seam to upper wrist cuff) and 18 1/4" (arm pit to lower wrist cuff).  ( I am 6" tall and wear size XL or 44L shirts and jackets.  I can get this on and buttoned but it's just a size or two too small for me ) The " PANTS " have two large slanted pockets on the front (right hand side also has a small coin or watch pocket), two large pockets on the back, seven loops for up to a 1 3/4" wide belt, and five U. S. MARINE CORPS marked metal buttons for the fly.  No manufacturer, date, or size markings that we can find anywhere.  Pants measure approximately 44 1/2" in overall length, 17" in width (side to side at the waist), 33" at the inseam, and 10" cuff width (at the ankle).  ( I wear size 36 X 34 pants.  I can get these on and the length is perfect, but I cannot come close to buttoning them (30" to 32" waist?) ) Condition, considering their age, is very good / excellent.  As mentioned above these were heavily starched, folded and stored for many years, but they do not look like they were used very much.  I had to seperate the inside of the arms, legs and pockets to try them on because of the starch.  They show minor wear and soiling from use, storage and handling, with some darkish staining to the seat of the pants (must have sat in something, please see photo below), smaller area of staining to the lower back area of the calf on the right hand leg, some possible areas of fading here and there, the "odd" button on the front, and the as to be expected manufacturing flaws and loose threads here and there, but no rips, tears or other damage that we can see.  Please see photos / scans above and below and bid accordingly.
