He was born in Kasi of King Asvasena and Queen Vama. He attained Nirvana on Mount Parasvanath. His sign is the serpent. Unlike his predecessorrs, Parasvanath is a historical personage, and is the forerunner of Mahavira the real founder of Jainism.
