Have you ever spent time inside a truck while it travels, in the cargo area?  Imagine what 101 degrees or higher [Trunk/Truck temperature] can do to the grease in a lens for lets say in 4 hours? The grease will run onto the aperture, on the glass and render the lens useless. Now imagine 3 to 6 days plus a weekend for one lens to travel in this heat. Need I say more?
