They are good and useable, lids fit securely and they stand firm on their bases. The maker is James Dixon and Sons. The only criticism I could make of them is that the finish on one is a bit "scratchy" when one looks at it under a glass. However, they look very good on the table and i don't think this would worry anyone who just wants something pretty like these on their Christmas table. All marks on bases and lids match and agree with each other.
