The Model 20 Chassis was apparently sold in two different cabinets - a Console like this one and alternatively in a Cathedral style. The Model 20 is a TRF - Tuned Radio Frequency - type of AM (Amplitude Modulated) Radio Receiver. The TRF predates the superheterodyne scheme of radio signal processing which virtually all later designs - and even present-day equipment - utilizes. The TRF scheme has no local oscillators and makes use of no intermediate frequency conversions. This Radio has three Controls; an On/Off Switch, a Volume Control and a Tuning (station selector) Control and a keystone-type of eye-pleasing back-lighted Frequency Display which tunes from 550kHz. to 1500kHz., the AM Standard Broadcast Band. The Loudspeaker is in perfect condition. It makes use of an electrodynamic Magnet (which doubles as a Filter Choke in the Radio's internal Power Supply). Also mounted on the Loudspeaker is the audio Output Transformer - paired with the Model 20's 71A Power Triode push-pull audio Output Tubes. On the rear of the Chassis are a pair of brass Fahnstock Clips - one for a Ground Wire and one for an Antenna Wire.    This Radio even has the original Line Cord and Plug. It works very well! The Console, Speaker Grille Cloth, Knobs and all is in beautiful condition for an 80-year old piece of Furniture. The rear edge is embossed "PHILCO". Successful buyer pays Shipping and Handling.
