Description
This beautiful 1919 Victrola VV-XI is one of the quietest, smoothest running machines I've ever heard. I am no expert on Victrola's however the turntable, motor, reproducer, brake and speed indicator seem to function flawlessly. I am including nearly 200 new needles as well, (loud and medium). The volume is incredible! This unit has been wonderfully maintained and has a beautiful dark, rich patina, it appears to have never been refinished. As it has not been refinished it has the usual nicks and scatches one would expect. The only real "marring" I would advise of is inside the lid where the reproducer has been allowed to swing into the lid leaving indentations. I have not observed any significant cracks or flaws in the wood cabinet. I have original literature; "Instructions for the Setting-up, Operation & Care of The Victrola", and "How to get the most out of your Victrola" and the original skeleton key. The literature is fascinating as it describes the different forms of music to it's buyer's, most of whom have never heard phonograph recordings at all. I am also including 25 original Victor records which include: Tschaikowsky's :Nutcracker Suite Parts 1-6 (complete) & 1812 Overture Beethoven Sonata 14 in C-Sharp Minor Victor Herbert "Babes in Toyland", "March of the Toys", "The Red Mill", etc Ava Maria, In The Good Old Summertime, Sweet Adeline and many other classical selections Unit measures 20 x 22 1/2 x 43 1/2", I would estimate a weight of 80-90 lbs with records.
