The lighter has been made using an English and French coin which date to the correct period and I believe commerates the alliance between the two countries during those awful days entrenched in the Flanders Fields. I have never seen a lighter like it before and wonder if it is a one off lighter made by an individual to remember his time in the trenches. The lighter has been silver plated as the penny coin from this era was bronze. A collectors piece either for historic value or a worthy addition to any lighter collection.
