***Fantastic PHILIPS Green Bakelite Valve Radio*** this amazing very early 1950's Philips valve radio is in excellent used condition & one of the rarest & best examples of this model you will ever find rare & simply superb green bakelite case contrasting clear speaker grill/tuning dial & original 'PHILIPS' centre badge classic & fantastic 1950's styling & design stunning rich eyecatching colours not in full working order ( see below ) measuring...27cm long...19cm high...13cm wide ( approx ) PLEASE NOTE...before listing i plugged the radio in & switched it on...the dial & valves inside all lit up... i was able to hear humming, but was unable to tune any stations...it appears that the dial string has broken & simply needs to be replaced as when i tried to tune in stations the dial needle didn't move ...therefore the radio is NOT in full working order & is sold "as is" & requiring electronic restoration... the internals do however appear all clean & complete & an overhaul by a professional service person would see working order easily restored CONDITION...the radio is in excellent condition...with the dial...tuning knobs...speaker grill...Philips centre badge...cord & plug...all present & in great condition... the case is simply in the most excellent condition...with the exception of some deterioration to the original thick cardboard style back plate which is easily replaced if desired ( but not even seen when on display anyway )...this stunning radio has no chips, cracks, repairs & the bakelite retains its original beautiful soft lustre... also if you are a radio collector or just have an interest in vintage radios this radio can happily be delivered FREE to the National Radio & Phono Fest in Canberra during September ~~*~~ overall this radio displays just superb & would be perfect feature in any room or valuable addition to any collection...this model is featured on pages 220 - 221 of the new & exciting book on bakelite radios RADIO DAYS ( which is not included in this auction but can be purchased by simply Checking out my other items! please read below for more details ) ..........................................................RADIO DAYS..........................................................
