Restored Vintage Antique Detrola Tube Radio, Wood 1937 Detrola Model 140, All-Time Mantle Piece Classic Start Price USD 0.99 Current Price USD 555.75 Time Left - Bid Count 20 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, September 05, 2008 End Time Monday, September 15, 2008 Location Northwood, ND See more about 'Restored Vintage Antique Detrola Tube Radio, Wood ' Description   1937 Detrola Model 140, Restored, Beautiful Working Condition, No Reserve   - All filter caps and wax paper caps replaced with high quality electrolytic and polypropylene (orange drop) capacitors, new cord and plug - All six vacuum tubes are replaced with new old stock (NOS) for this sale, about 1 hour burn time - All wood cabinet, in excellent condition, features multiple booked veneers.  No peeling veneer.  A small chip near the right side of the tuning dial (upper dial on the right side) does not penetrate the veneer so it is nearly invisible.   Wood back cover is original and very good. Refinished in Watco Danish Oil only. - Original lighted tuning dial is in gorgeous condition (see photos).  Bezel is original brass and is mint.  Knobs are all original and excellent.  All control functions are fine.  Power/volume knob is crisp, smooth and static free.  Tapered tone control works as new.  Tuning is smooth without slippage or sticking. All bands are functional, Broadcast (AM), Police, and Foreign.  Very good AM reception with original short wire antenna.  I have received foreign broadcasts (South America) with only the short antenna, so there is great potential with a loop or long wire antenna.
