Description
You are bidding on a really nice and beautiful German tube radio made by SABA in 1958, Modell Freudenstadt 8. This radio is in very good working and looking condition!! Please take a look at all the nice pictures. International shipping worldwide! Details: - tubes are: EC92, EC92, ECH81, EBF89, EABC80, EL84, EM84 (magic eye, high brightness see picture) - two fullrange speakers (Greencone) with really powerfull sound plus two tweeters left and right for 3-dimensional sound effect - 6 AM and 9 FM circuits - 110 Volt and 220 Volt operation. For 110 Volt operation: I will prepare the radio before shipping (switching to 110 Volt) - Weight: 15 kg, size: 24 x 15 x 11 inch - Very beautiful dial glass - Housing in excellent condition, see pictures. There are only a very few marks of usage - Very powerful sound without any hum or distortion! - The radio has an amazing performace with a lot of strong stations, especially UKW (FM) - AM: Longwave is from 150 - 350 kHz, midwave is from 520 - 1600 kHz, short wave is from 6 - 19 MHz (16-49 m bands), FM is from 87,5 - 100 MHz. The German FM range has grown is two steps: First in 1962: From 87,5 - 100 MHz to 87,5 - 104 MHz, second in 1970 (?) to 87,5 - 108 MHz (still today). So tube radios with FM up to 104 MHz are available, but quite rare, and tube radios up to 108 MHz are quite unavailable. Exceptions are German tube radios made for export (e.g. for US market). They have a range going up to 108 MHz. But: it is possible to widen the FM range by tuning the FM oszillator. Then the tube radio will go up to 108 MHz, but the numbers on the dial scale are wrong then (of course). Unfortunatly I don't know how to do (maybe I should learn). - UKW up to 100 MHz - Long wave, mid wave, short wave with lots of stations, especially on short wave - The radio has been cleaned very carefully - Ferrit antenna inside - Connections for CD-Player and additional speaker at the back - All bad capacitors have been changed, plus 2 tubes and two resistors plus rectifier have been changed. - There are two thumbwheels for Bass and Treble. Two separate pointers for FM or AM. The words "Musik" "Sprache" are iluminated on the frontglass! Has also a rotating ferritantenna and magic Eye. - Please take a look at my other auctions: I am selling several big tube radios now and in a few weeks. What is not working: The push button for on/off is out of order. The radio is always on. I can insert a power switch in the power cord if you like. I didn't do it yet because I would like to sell the radio without modifications About shipping: I will ship the radio internationally: Shipping to USA: 85 US$ Shipping within Europe: 45 US$ Shipping to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China: 110 US$ I will use a new strong box The radio will be protected by thick (!) layers of glass wool on each side. It will travel like surrounded by pillows I will take pictures of the radio being packed. The winner of the auction will get the pictures before (!) sending in order to decide wether the packing has been done well enough or not. The radio will be double boxed for 5 US$ extra if you like. Shipping on buyers risk. The radio will be shipped with insurance The radio can be shipped within 7 days after arrival of the payment I found a bug in the ebay shipping cost calculator. It does not work properly when you try to calculate shipping costs to different towns or states in the USA. Correct is: The radio will be delivered from Germany. Sending it to any town or state in the USA is 85 US$ flat fee.
