Carved in the style of John of Bologna, this exceptional item definitely dates to the 19th century, and may be even older. The ivory figure of Jesus Christ is exquisitely crafted and very finely detailed. Bought in Italy in the early 20th century, the ivory figure is attached to a wooden cross. The crucifix is in overall excellent condition. Total dimensions of this piece are 15" x 7 1/4". The ivory figure measures 8 7/8" x 7". Free shipping in continental US. The ivory figure is an antique carving of African elephant ivory and was imported to the US legally.
