Description
Please read auction listing description, payment method & shipping cost completely & thoroughly...THANK YOU The "TREASURE CHEST" vintage tube radio is extremely rare. Back in the early 20' & 30's they were considered what we would call a console radio. This radio was bought at a pawn shop in 1932, the lady that bought it was told by the owner that he was told it was 10 years old. She paid $10.00 for it when she was 23 years old back then. It had been in the family since that day, so it's at least 76 years old, since I can't verify if it was really 10 years old when she bought it. It definitely was used throughout the years, but it still works, am stations only ofcourse. A new power cord replaced the old one in 1968. Trying to varnish it only made it worse, as you can tell from the pictures. I'll let the new owner decide on how to strip it & what color they want the wood to be. I supersized the pictures so you can get a good look at its condition, one picture shows a split in the top corner wood layer & please check out the wires, some are on their last leg. I'm trying to be completely honest, if you check out my feedback I try to describe items as well as I can, so please check out all the pictures & if you want 20 more pictures, showing the entire radio, inside & out, just e-mail me through ebay & I'll send them to you. By the way, when you open the lid & hear the click by securing the top, the radio automatically turns on. It is approx. 10&3/4" high & when the lid is opened it's another 6&1/2", it is 14&3/4" wide at the base & 10" deep. Engraved inside on the metal is "PILOT", U.S.A., then the only other visible letters & numbers are "ensed under", "at NO. 1253423". Also the numbers 75331 are engraved in another area & some parts numbers are also engraved inside. Any info would be greatly appreciated. If you have ANY questions, please e-mail me. S/H is $50.00, outside USA mainland please e-mail in advance for S/H cost before bidding. I'm going to ship in two boxes, the 22+ pounds radio in one & the delicate tubes in another. If it cost more, I pay, if it's less I'll put it in an envelope with the radio. Please check out my other listings, I will be adding more daily & will combine shipping cost. If you have 10 or less feedback score or no activity on your account within the past 6 months, please contact me before bidding or I will have to remove your bid. THANK YOU PayPal ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS. Payment must be made within 3 days after auction ends. If payment is not received in that time period I will use eBay's "Unpaid Item Policy" & the sale is void. I do not use eBay's "Second Chance"
