The tuntun sticks were used to attract wild animals which are then impaled by deadly spears set on springs. It is also used to measure the height of the traps (to warn pass-by). The crouched, supporting its head on its hands human or monkey figure craft at the top of the stick have magical powers to lure the wild boars to the trap. These pair of tuntun poles are carved by solid wood, the top end is fitted with carved deer's horn with the monkey or human figure.
