Description
This is an Edison Disc Phonograph with the patented dates ranging from Nov. 17 1903 to May 23, 1916.  The numbers listed on the gold plate inside are C-19 and SM-94468.  There is a round gold coin attached that says, "The model 250 Diamond Disc Phonograph is the Official Laboratory Model of Thomas A. Edison."  The height is approximately 51 inches and width approximately 21 inches.  Included are 8 Edison Discs  (1 has about 1/4 inch damage to the edges, so it is still playable, but you might have to place the needle forward a tad) all look like they are in very good condition. This beautiful piece of furniture is pleasing to the eye, a true work of craftmanship!  It is very clean and has been cared for with only a few VERY slight scratches on the edge of the legs.  Who ever re-varnished it left some drips here and there, but are only noticable right up close.  You may be able to see from the picture that someone has slightly filed the wood right behind the turntable...I have no clues as to why, but want to list all imperfections.  :)You can open up the cabinet and find a place to hold your discs.  All the wood is in excellent condition. This is my father's player, so when the grandchildren went to visit him, he played the discs for all the children and myself.  I cannot tell you if the turntable is in excellent condition because I don't know how it should look.  I can say it plays beautifully, the sound was crisp and everything seemed to work well.  My father says it works great.BUT....this is a no return item, and a PICK-UP ONLY, I am 20 minutes from Los Angeles so it might be worth your time to come and LOOK at this phonograph before you bid, just to make sure it is everything you want.  :)Feel free to email with any questions!Shannon
