It is marked on the bottom in several places -- note that the 4th, 5th and 6th photos on the left show these marks.  These are the maker's marks of Atkins Brothers of Sheffield, England.  This company was established in the mid-1700s, going through a few name changes and handed down through the family eventually become Atkins Brothers in the late 19th century.   Please note that we have a number of pieces of antique and vintage silverplate, all from the same estate (see provenance below).  Please see our other listings for more silver and silverplate from this great estate.    Age (ca.) c1930-1950s Dimensions It measures 10" X 10" X 3-1/2" High. Condition Excellent condition.  Beautiful unpolished patina -- we have not polished it (merely buffed off the majority of the tarnish) as many prefer their own brand of polishing.  No dings or dents. No plate wear.  No damage at all.    Provenance This item is from a the estate of a 95 year old woman who not only collected the finest things, she had numerous pieces that she inherited from parents and grandparents.  Most of the things from this estate have been in the family for generations and are fresh to market.  .   Please scroll down for more photos and click to enlarge any of them. HOW will my item be shipped and HOW LONG will it take to get to me?  Once you pay for your item (or your check clears), it will be packed for shipping.  The method of shipping depends on the size of your purchase.   Small items are sent via USPS Priority Mail within a day or two of your payment and should arrive in a few days.  Medium size pieces (small pieces of furniture, etc.) are shipped by UPS; these items are generally custom boxed so they take a day or so longer to be shipped and typically arrive within a few days to a week. Large pieces of furniture are custom crated and shipped by our trucker, Arrow Express, using their door-to-door "white glove" service. Once the trucker picks up your item from us, it normally takes two to three weeks to arrive.  However, many things can impact the time of a truck shipment so it can take as long as eight weeks, depending on your location.   Can you ship my item any cheaper?  We are working very hard to keep shipping costs down but both USPS and UPS have raised their rates and the price of gas has skyrocketed, so truckers are all charging surcharges.  We do not use Greyhound or any of the cut-rate shippers.  We always combine shipping to discount multiple item purchases.   What about LOCAL (NY tri-state area) shipments?  We always welcome pick ups and never charge for this service.  Also, we have a local delivery service that can deliver up to five items for the same price, anywhere within the NY tri-state area.  If you are local, please ask for a price quote for this very affordable service. INSURANCE and DAMAGE HANDLING Will my item's shipment be insured?  We always include insurance in your shipping price.  Antiques and vintage items are vulnerable to any aggressive handling so it's important they always be insured when shipping.   What if my item arrives damaged?   We value our products and are as upset as you are if anything gets damaged!  In the unlikely event that your item does get damaged in shipment, it is always fully insured and we will work with you every step of the way to recover this insurance. Please let us know immediately if an item is damaged in shipment and please make sure to retain all your packing material.  INTERNATIONAL TRANSACTIONS I'm not in the U.S., how will my transaction be handled?   We ship worldwide but we can only accept payment in U.S. Dollars.
