Description
This solid brass frog measures 5" front to back, 4 1/2" side to side, and is 3" tall. It weighs 9-10 lbs and is suitable as a doorstop or garden ornament. It has very, very slight traces of old green and yellow paint. On the back of the frog is the phrase "I CROAK FOR THE JACKSON WAGON". Some poeple that that this referred to Andrew Jackson's 1840's Presidential camgain, but is actually an advertising premium for a wagon company located in Jackson, Michigan, and it was produced in the 1880's. They were usually in cast iron, which makes this brass version rare. I have seen them in auction catalogs with an estimated value of $150-200. Enjoy Please feel free to email any questions ...
