The box is hinged with an awesome Terrier in Base Relief on the lid - such detail! The terrier is framed with a geometric pattern of scrolls. Art Deco Floral Motif on the sides as pictured.  There is a small "handle" on front to be used to open the box. Original Hardware still in great shape and fully functional. 4 1/4 inches long by 3 1/2 across by 2 inches deep including the four small feet on the bottom. Grey-hued Metal overwashed in a copper type metallic finish. The years have been Very Good to this box as the patina of age has only highlighted the details of posture - head erect, tail up behind - and has improved overall impression. Made In Japan mark on bottom!MAGNIFICENT! Some minor wear to finish and tarnish as pictured.
